Eurovision Dance Contest... [Sep. 6th, 2008|10:55 pm]
The Love Bug
Before I go any further, I need to make it perfectly clear that the only reason I’m watching this is because Caroline is watching it.

Graham Norton and Claudia Winkleman are hosting the televised event from Glasgow, and they’re doing a great job. Graham Norton is on top form!

The commentary (which is usually done by Terry Wogan on the Song Contest) was done by Len Goodman and Craig Revel Horwood - of Strictly Come Dancing fame.

I am absolutely appalled and disgusted at how rude Len and Craig are being about the dance acts on the show, and also the votes being announced by the competing nations. Even to the point of hurling abuse at the show judges for not giving the UK 12 points all round. We didn’t deserve to get 12 points from the judges... I think we were fortunate to get what we did!

Maybe I’m expecting too much by comparing Len and Craig’s “Grumpy Old Men” approach to Terry’s critical, but humourous and fair approach. I don’t care if you’re a professional in your field, there is absolutely no need to be rude.

Craig Revel Horwood and Len Goodman

I totally agree with you, at one point they commented on the Polish workers in Britain, not sure what that had to do with them voting for the United Kingdom, they were rude and unprofessional.
