Magnolia on Sky+ Anytime [Jan. 17th, 2009|08:02 pm]

Some of you will know that I am a great fan of the film Magnolia.

If you haven’t seen it yet (and I would strongly recommend that you do) and you have Sky+ with Anytime, it’s on there now until Wednesday 21 January. Even if you can’t watch it before then, get it recorded into your Sky+ planner.

There’s quite a few swears and “adult” themes, and yes it’s 3 hours long, but it’s a cracking film.

I’m watching it now. Yeah, I know I have it on DVD, but I lent it to someone at work and haven’t had it back yet.

One part of the film makes me cry everytime.

Like to hazard a guess?

Oh, it's been too long since I've watched it... there are so many great parts and I can't call anything specific to mind. (I want to watch it now! But Dave's mom has our copy.)

Coincidentally we did just that earlier - from Sky Anytime to Sky+ - as Lu has never seen it.

She fell asleep in the first half hour, but that was due to serious tiredness rather than the film.

She also really struggled with the unusual style of flipping between stories, along with the rapid English, but by the end she was really liking it and pitched it in the 4/5 to 5/5 range.

I forgot how much of a feel good film it is.

Oddly, thats a movie Liz and I own on DVD but have NEVER watched. We buy loads of DVDs that sit in their shrinkwrap for ages.

Guess Magnolia gets an outing tonight then. ;)
