Podcasts not playing on iPod Touch... [Mar. 30th, 2009|09:10 pm]

No, I don’t possess, and will not possess, an iPod Touch... however, it would seem that some of The Bugcast listeners do.

I’ve had a couple of iPod Touch owners tell me that the majority of The Bugcast episodes will not play on their iPod. Could anyone shed any light as to why this might be? Google isn’t being too forthcoming at the moment.

Its obvious...

The Bugcast is such a superior'cast that it frowns upon Apple users and their poor choice of hardware. ;)

Weirdness. If they download from another PC and copy to the Touch does it play? I'll try and experiment with the wife's, if she lets me.

I found out that it might be something to do with ID3 tags. If you know how to convert ID3 for an MP3 to v1.1 using iTunes, can you please try that and then sent the MP3 to the iPod again?

Thanks! :o)

I'll have to try downloading DDL, I use iTunes to create the ID3 tags for that.

We downloaded show 54, copied to the iPod and... it worked fine! No changing of tags or anything. This is an iPod Touch 1st generation, if that helps?

Thanks for the promo in the latest show as well! :-)

Not sure if it's the problem but I notice you're encoding at 48,000Khz while the other podcasts which I subscribe to are using 44,100Khz
