Linux IRC Clients... [Aug. 23rd, 2009|05:18 pm]
The Love Bug
So, who can recommend me a decent, lightweight, open-source IRC client?

I have tried:
  • Irssi
  • Pidgin
  • ... and another one that is a plugin for Firefox

Irssi is good, but I’d prefer something Gnome/GTK-based.

XChat IRC is what I've got on my system. No idea how it got there, I've never used IRC, so either Gnome or Xfce must have installed it. Either way, it should be GTK-compliant / -based.

Hi Phil... interesting, I had to install it.

Anyway, I'm trying it out now.

Thanks for the comment! :o)

Wish I had a recommendation but you already nixed my all-time favorite (IRSSI) :)

XChat is okay if you like a graphical client.
