White Van Man... [May. 14th, 2002|09:20 am]
The Love Bug
[Current Mood |irritatedirritated]

Out of the 10 houses in our crescent, we are the only house without a driveway.
Out of the 10 houses in our crescent, we are the only ones with a front wall.
Out of the 10 houses in our crescent, we are the only ones who can't park in front of that wall, 'cos every other bugger does!

Now, someone has stuck a flippin' great white van there. We noticed it when we got back from Yorkshire on Sunday night, but I don't know when I was put there.

It was still there this morning, and it hasn't moved.

The capper to this tale, is that I have had to park on the pavement in the entrance to the crescent, and someone knocked my bloody wing mirror off the car during the night!!! Luckily it's one of those that you can clip back in, and luckily the glass wasn't broken.

I just find it highly unfair that we're not allowed to park our own car in front of our own house, 'cos other people (with driveways) feel the need to selfishly park there instead!! And when I can't park our car in front of our house, it gets soddin' damaged! :-\

*breathes*

Ok, rant over.

If it makes you feel any better, I go to a college that is 80% commuters, yet we only have enough parking spaces for about 50% of the student body. :)

Heh, that makes sense!! LOL

But on the other hand, you didn't pay in excess of USD150K for the privilege of parking in front of your college! :-D

Re:

True - but I get my grades docked for being late to class, which is unavoidable if I can't park the car! :)

By the way, I highly enjoy having someone from across the pond in my Friends list - I've become rather acclimated to the different manner of speaking by working for an Irish company, and between your posts and my co-workers, I'm starting to become less of an idiotic American. :)

I can fully understand how you feel. Must admit we have noticed on the times we've visited yours that your house was the only one without a driveway.

You'd think you'd have at the very least an allocated parking space?

But there's no space unfortunately.

There are two garages, but they're owned by some guy on the main road.

How annoying!

Can you ask the neighbours if it's theirs?

Do you have some kind of homeowners' association in your neighborhood?
