The Love Bug
[Current Mood |amusedamused]

I drove most of the way into work this morning with a metallic blue Land Rover up my backside!

I have noticed that a lot (not all) of people-carrier and 4x4 drivers do tend to drive a lot closer to people than "lower" cars. Is it to do with the fact that they are so much higher up??

*chuckle*

Actually in a way you are right.
I've driven my friends people carrier and her Range Rover, and it's amazing the difference.
You can't see how close you are to some cars some of the time.

Didn't you think to check your underpants for stray cars before putting them on, or are you *that* tired in the mornings? :D

Well, I kinda realised that going to bed at 02:30 this morning was a mistake! LOL

I think they feel so big and safe that they don't worry about being to close. My mate has a Ford Explorer and I know you getthe feeling in that :)

I think driving one of those gives you a sense of arrogance! I see it a lot on US highways too!

Re: SUVs

SUVs have always been a pet peeve of mine simply because most are driven by people because they are fashionable. Many have no clue how to handle a large vehicle like that.

I feel vindicated several times over during the winter months when the rare snowfall occurs here (Southeastern USA). SUVs in ditches all over town :)

Yeah, the height can do cause you to do that, if you're not used to it. Although, if the driver has a brain, they should realize that there ain't no way 2 tonnes of steel is gunna stop on a dime!
