Nutscrape... [Sep. 25th, 2003|09:19 pm]
The Love Bug
[Current Mood |amusedamused]

I'm in the process of redesigning my website, and I'm really happy with the design so far.

But, I thought I'd test it on some other browsers and see how it comes out.... I wasn't surprised with the outcome.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 - perfect
  • Mozilla 1.2.1 (Windows) - perfect
  • Mozilla 0.7 (Linux) - perfect (except for font differences)
  • Konqueror (Linux) - almost perfect (fonts a tad small)

And the capper...
  • Netscape Communicator 4.76 (Linux) - totally broke

Some people say that Netscape is the only truly HTML-compliant web browser... I just say that it's a waste of space.

Let's check my webstats, and see what other people think...

Hmm... perhaps they agree?

I liked Opera, except it wouldn't let me stay logged into LJ in multiple windows. So I stuck with IE through laziness.

I look forward to seeing your redesigned site, funnily enough I went along and looked at the current version today, to see if you'd made any changes lately. I guess you've been a busy busy bug lately!

;-)

Take a look at the HTML in poggs.com - that appears to render fine in just about any browser. Your task is to run things through validator.w3.org and find the code that produces the style you want and complies.

Don't code for a specific browser.

Well, that's the thing... the page validates as XHTML 1.0. That's why I'm surprised that Netscape doesn't render it properly.
