"You will show me respect, because I am your elder."
Yeah? Respect my arse!!
And as the OTHER phrase goes:-
"To gain respect, you gotta EARN it first" :)
Better one (which I firmly believe in) is - "To earn respect, first you must give it".
lol, I think everyone watched this tonight.
I agree, she never did earn the respect of the children and father, but at the same time, the kids were overly abusive. It was always going to be an explosive situation.
yah i disagree with. i hate it your elders think they can talk to you any way because your younger than them. that's like abusing there power.
As Stu said, you have to earn respect, it doesn't come automatically no matter how old you are!
I couldn't believe that anyone would actually say those words! She really was unbelievable! And I didn't think the children were all that disrespectful, to be honest. They were just normal children, and I think most kids would have reacted in that manner if they'd had the kind of rules imposed on them that she introduced. I noticed in particular that even when the older daughter was ranting and raving, she didn't swear once. That's impressive!
Respect my arse!!
Erm... I think I'll take a raincheck on that.
*runs away very quickly*
Respect your arse?
I dunno about that....does your arse respect me?...wait- don't answer that :P
I didn't see that programme, I was watching something even more interesting - an old Doctor Who episode ('Logopolis' which was Tom Baker's last story :)
