Charlie - update, again! [Mar. 24th, 2004|01:20 pm]
The Love Bug
Well, they solved the problem of the car veering to the left.

Indeed, now the car veers to the right!!

In the job sheet, they did tell me that they had swapped the front wheels, left to right, and right to left. This tells me that it's most likely a wheel problem, so I'm going to Kwik-Fit on Saturday to get them all re-balanced.

Hopefully, that'll be the end of it!!

My advice: steer (no pun intended!) clear of Kwik-Fit.

Try and find a good local tyre dealer who has a proper 4 wheel laser alignment system, and get it checked with this. The only one I can recommend, which may not be convenient for you, is Merrow Tyre & Exhaust. You can always give them a call and see if they can recommend someone in your area, but if you can make it to them I would strongly recommend you do.

There are *lots* of cowboys out there in this area of car repairs. Kwik Fit franchises are a mixed bag, so they can't be trusted.

I speak with lots of experience of wheel alignment problems, having wasted several hundred pounds in tyres, balancing, and alignment costs.
