The Love Bug
Had a really good session at the gym tonight. [details]
I'm really happy to be back at a gym again on a regular basis... particularly with such good gym partners!! :o)
I'm thinking about joining Caroline for yoga on Thursday nights, and also starting the Boxercise circuit on a Wednesday night. However, as Tuesday is our designated gym night, I doubt that the Wednesday thing will be every week. We've already experienced gym burnout - February last year when we first joined a gym - so we know not to do that again! <g>
We're getting our Fitness Programmes set up on Saturday, so I'll get a proper routine going, including getting started on the weights machines.
It is actually known as an arm bike. Incidentally, I don't know of any other form of cardio that can leave you do exhausted! ;)
Yeah, well... that's why I only did 5 minutes. It's taken about 15 different attempts to find a programme on that thing that I can actually finish!!!
Tell me about it, I'm facing the prospect of potentially having to alter my training so that I can run somewhere in the region of 10 - 15 miles with extra weight on. At the moment the odd mile here and there is more than enough ;)
So, are you planning on doing any resistance exercise as well as cardio?
If you're referring to weights, yes. That's one thing that I will be getting sorted out on Saturday. Doing my reps was the only thing that I found a real challenge, and ironically the thing I enjoyed the most.
It also means that I can get a lot more variety in, and make my gym session more than 1 hour if I want. There's only so much cardio you can do in an hour without getting seriously bored!
Definately. To be perfectly honest, whilst cardio is useful to an extent, if you want to make changes to your body composition then resistance exercise is the way to go. That obviously includes both machine weights and free weights. If you ever need any advice or have any questions, as well as the staff at your Gym, you know where to find me.

Yoga is wonderful - so gentle but it makes you feel like you've had a hell of a workout! I really have to join the class next door, for the summer term - must ring up!
It sounds as though yoga is the kind of thing I need at the end of a tough day... what Caroline described to be this evening sounded almost heavenly! :o)

Wouldn't it be great to have a mini-gym in your own home? I'd love that - if I won the lottery!
