The one... [Aug. 15th, 2004|12:08 am]
The Love Bug
[Current Mood |accomplishedaccomplished]

You may have noticed that in previous posts, I've mentioned that I've not come up with many 'quality' photographs from my new digital camera yet.  But, I knew that - one day - I'd come up with an absolute cracker.

And here it is...

I have not altered this image at all, except that I've cropped it down to 800x600 from the original 2016x1512 that it was when I took it.  It's not been zoomed or otherwise modified apart from that.  The photograph itself was taken at supermacro, with no optical or digital zoom.

I appreciate your honesty Matt, and the fact that you might have been suffering a tad when you wrote this.

Whilst I don't necessarily agree with all that you said, one specific part of your comment backs my own theory up.

You said, "It's not what you snap that makes a good picture; it's how you snap it..."

It wasn't an easy picture to take, and I took a fair number of pictures to try and get the one that looked the best. But you also have to bear in mind that perception is relative. I'm not an expert photographer, although I've been taking domestic pictures for many years.

I've only just started to take artistic snapshots, and I know that I've got a long way to go. However, this photo - for me - was probably the best photograph I've ever taken.

It's that kind of thing that you need to take into account.

No, it's today I'm suffering. Both because of my hangover, and because I'm reading the bollocks I wrote last night.

I'm sorry Dave, my comment was just completely wrong.

"... my comment was just completely wrong."

Not necessarily... unless the basis of what you were trying to convey was not accurate. I actually agree (to a point) with what you said.

However, I would agree that the way you conveyed it was perhaps a tad harsh. For that, I accept your apology.
