Mobile phones are butt ugly these days.
What happened to beautiful phones as a concept? At least Sony Ericsson still make beautiful phones. If I care enough to get a new phone in May, I'm having a K700. Although that's pretty doubtful really, as I can't afford it. I have a hell of a love-hate relationship with the X70. It's like family now, I can slag it off behind it's back but I'll kill anyone else who dares to do the same.

I'm not happy with my X70 for one reason. It won't act as a GPRS modem for my iPaq, so I have to use dialup... which costs me.
*sucks in sharp intake of breath*
Expensive! No wonder you want to change. I tried using dialup via my Bluetooth chip when I was on holiday then I realised that I needed an ISP to actually make it work.
I'm a dork sometimes.
*shrug*
With the laptop, I should add!
What do you think of the Blackberry phones?
They're ok, I suppose... I'm not really keen on them.
Besides which, Orange don't do them for consumers ;o)
Sorry to be dumb... but what exact type of phone is the one in your post? I'm contemplating getting a phone (albeit for my few months stay here, although I don't mind too much getting into a contract) and want something ideally with email, WWW browsing and IM. I don't know anyway who knows much about mobiles...
Orange SPV C500. It's an Windows Mobile Smartphone. It has email, MSN Messenger, Pocket Internet Explorer, Java VM (so you can run ICQ clients, etc), Windows Media Player.
My mate had one on trial ...and it continually crashed ...I hope they have improved it since ..You may wanna do a trial first (they give you the option if you ring 150 and ask about upgrades ...) Just a thought
Was it that specific model, or one of its predecessors?
Was the SPV and less than 3 months ago ...they may have upgraded the firmware since even if it was the same model ...(N.B. my mate would have played with ALL of the techi toy bits of it which could have made it more unstable ...he is a techi)
I have a Sony Ericsson 910i (tis kewl but battery life is not perfect) and it is a bit large ...K700i looks a lot smaller/better battery life ...was what my mate ended up getting after he tried three phones in three weeks with Orange (they swapped em ...SVP and then a flip phone and ended up happy with the K700 ...)

I don't think I'm ready for 3G yet. I don't really have a need for it.
:o)
It's a PocketPC :o) Like these...
If we go for that one.. *I* want the black one ;-P
I'm glad you said that, 'cos I prefer the silver one! :o)
You could rebel and both get different phones ;)
I always choose the phone I want, and Caroline says, "I want that one."
sorry, i really cant decide! i'd probably go for the silver one.. but the black one looks more striking!
the black spv rocks! Ima bout to get that one to when it drops here. WINCE rocks! Wise decision :D
SPVs are alright. I suppose. ;)
Of course I'm utterly biased, but I'd never buy one. Using one at work, it just feels.. clunky. Damn Microsoft OS ;)
Is that an objective response, or is it just because it's Microsoft? ;o)
It's personal preference :) |
