Sykehouse Lift Bridge... [May. 6th, 2007|07:13 pm]
The Love Bug
[Current Mood |happyhappy]

We went for a drive earlier on - after popping to Asda and Maplin - to help Amy get some sleep in the car. We took a number of routes that we didn't know, as we both like discovering new places. We noticed some flashing red lights, like the one's you get at railway crossings, but it didn't look quite right. We ended up waiting to cross this...

It was a fantastic sight, particuarly watching the barges go underneath. I stopped the car switched off the engine and got out to watch! :o)

Yes it was a fantastic sight.. and yes you did get out to take a look but you stopped the car because had you not you'd have gone head on into a lot of concrete ^_^

It used to annoy me no end when the swingbridge went in Newhaven and I was on my way to work!!

It is cool to watch them though when you're not in a rush to get somewhere!

Absolutely - I completely agree! I don't know how long the guy in front of me had been waiting, but he was chatting with the bridge-keeper right by the canalside.
