Sky+ baby... [Jul. 29th, 2007|05:32 pm]

At 08:20 this morning, we went from this:

to this...

We now have Sky+ in the house. We said we were going to get Sky+ when we moved here (over a year ago) but never did. But when the company I work for set up an offer for a half price Sky+ or HD box for half price with no installation charge, I jumped at it! All I paid was a one-off charge of £49 for the box, and nothing else - no additional monthly charges or owt.

It's currently recording Blue Thunder whilst Caroline is watching the live coverage of Big Brother on 12005.

It's all good!

I'm glad you're enjoying your purchase :)

A word to the wise from a seasoned Sky+ hand - watch your 'series links' - becuase they have a nasty habit of dropping and when you come to watch the latest episode of whatever, it's not there.

oooh I'm getting it on Wednesday! I can't wait! We had problems with MultiRoom and Sky owe us £100 so that's paying for the box, they waived the £30 installation fee and you now don't pay the extra £10 a month ... so we're going to be quids in!! Whooo!

Is it easy to learn how to use?

not sure how we'd cope without sky+

the "dual record" feature is an absolute godsend...

Just a FYI, you can record two things and then watch something you've previously already recorded. But if you're watching it live, then you can only record one other thing while watching.

As someone else already mentioned sometimes the series links can go a bit weird, but I think that's only happened to us once, and I'm sure it's just because our sky+ box hates Jonathon Ross. :P (Other times when my series link has disapeared it's because of Sky's eratic sheduling)

Just have a look before you delete the episode of whatever you're recording. If there is no series link (green double arrow thingy), check it's the last episode of the series.
