For some reason, I have an intense attraction to certain kinds of music composition. Specifically those that have an orchestral overtone, but then use a bassline and rhythm to support and enrich it. These kind of compositions are both technically rich and aurally compelling.
Have a listen to Rob Dougan’s “There’s Only Me” (UK theme tune for Law & Order: Criminal Intent) and James Newton Howard’s “Visions” (from the Grand Central scene in Unbreakable) to get an idea of what I mean.
In addition to this, there are other theme tunes that I find myself bopping to the theme from NCIS, and stopping what I’m doing to listen to (and appreciate) the theme from Holby City.
I can’t explain why this is... but I know I appreciate good music.
Has anyone got any other examples of the first two tunes I mentioned?
