Greetings once again from not-so-sunny Malta! :-)

This is just a quick rundown of the last few days.

Tuesday 18 December 2001
Today we went into Valletta, Malta's capital city, to do some shopping. The bus trip in to the city was pretty bumpy - to say the least!! Malta's buses are widely known to be the most uncomfortable anywhere... and this is NO exaggeration! LOL

Whilst in Valletta, we visited many shops, including BHS, Next, Mango, etc (you know, shops you wouldn't see in the UK!! :-P ) as well as a few local market shops.

On the way through the city, we saw a cinema so we thought we'd check it it out. One thing we thought was odd was that there was no indication of what films were on, and when. Anyway, we went up the stairs towards the box office. Near the top we saw a sign showing that film times were 0800, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600,
and 1800... but still no sign of what the film was. We turned the corner, and there it was. A large poster depicting two women, and no less than 4 exposed breasts. You never saw us move so fast before. We were outta there!! I don't think anyone saw us though! LOL

The bus journey back to the apartment was a nightmare though. It's entirely possible that this driver had never sat behind the wheel of a bus before! My bum was so numb, it hurt! LOL

In the evening we were going to Chris' bar to meet up with Gloria and Tony (who had arrived earlier that afternoon). We were early though and decided to pop in at an Internet Cafe on the way. So we checked our journals and the wedding pics that some people had put up, and we also popped into #happyirc to surprise peeps. However, peeps were not that happy to see us... to the point were we were kicked out of the channel! LOL We could certainly see their point though, but it's our honeymoon so we can do what we like. So ner! :-P

Anyway, at the bar we met up with Gloria and Tony, and had a really good time with them. Thanks guys!

Today we went to Marfa Ridge, the northernmost point of Malta. That is,
after we went round and round in circles, trying to leave Qawra! 20 minutes later we were on the wrong road out of the town. As a result, we ended up driving through about 7 miles of potholes and uneven roads. I'm glad that the hire car suspension was good! LOL

But it was worth it. The pure beauty of Malta (and Comino and Gozo - we could see both of those islands too) simply took our breaths away. This is a wonderful place.

I'll write up about today's events tomorrow. Assuming that my iPAQ isn't confiscated!!
